The vascular plant collection encompasses ca. 5 000 specimens, stored currently at the herbarium of the University of Greifswald (HGW). About 1 000 specimens are from the genus Carex (sedges).

Major collecting areas are Germany, the boreal zones of Sweden, Norway and Russia, and eastern North America.
